UN FESTIVAL INDIMENTICABILE!

Anche quest’anno l’esito del Woodbridge Italian Festival ha premiato gli sforzi degli organizzatori.
Grande successo di pubblico ed apprezzamenti per l’organizzazione della manifestazione che e’ giunta al suo 21mo anno.
Nonostante diversi “intoppi” burocratici, a dir vero sorprendenti...., e l’effetto della situazione economica generale, il Festival si e’ svolto secondo tradizione, regalando un fine settimana all’insegna della bella musica ed il divertimento.
Le migliaia di italocandesi intervenuti hanno reso ancora piu’ briosa la manifestazione che e’ promossa dal nostro settimanale con il patrocinio di ditte locali.
Sabato 1 agosto, prima delle due giornate di festa all’Ontario Soccer Centre, si e’ eletta Miss Woodbridge Italia 2009: il titolo e’ andato alla ventunenne Lindsay Dukelow di origine trevisana , i nonni sono originari di Pederobba; al secondo posto si e’ classificata Ashley Cester ( i nonni son napoletani, lei ha 19 anni), mentre il terzo posto e’ di Josephine Lunardo di origini molisane (Guardiaregia) - nella foto in basso.

Dance with the stars -the young, the famous, the brightest!
At the 21st annual Woodbridge Italian Festival

Get your dancing shoes ready, let your heart burst with romance, let the music embrace you …
It’s festa time, Italian style at the 21st annual Woodbridge Italian Festival, Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2 at the Ontario Soccer Centre, 7601 Martin Grove Road, just south of Hwy 7, in Woodbridge.
Each year the Woodbridge Italian Festival attracts thousands of people: from grand-parents to newly-born, from teen-agers to newly-weds for a whole week-end of music, joy, games, laughter and love --forget Woodstock, this is Woodbridge! And this year promises to be even more spectacular than ever!

On centre stage, the music starts at 3 pm., and you can dance and celebrate your love till 11:30 pm both nights. On Saturday night let the music of the Tony Silvani Band embrace you, let the moon captivate your heart and the stars up above shine on you, and your loved one, as you dance a the night away. On Sunday night, you can do it all over again, this time with the Pino Cea Band.

In between, enjoy the sights --of the beauty pageant to elect Miss Woodbridge Italia 2009 or, of the beautiful vintage cars: from Fiat’s 500 to Ferrari.

If sport’s your game take in a spectacular, what else, soccer match: see the “senior superstars” play for the Coppa Italia or the fearless “media team” take on the slippery politicians.

Or, relax. Visit the indoor market place, take a look at the arts and crafts or see what the outdoor vendors have to offer. Have some pizza or a gelato while the kids have fun, well … go ballistic, at their own amusement area.
Then again, if music’s the thing, did we mention the Festival’s special showcase with Beauties of Asia, Daniel Panetta, or the best top 40 dance music band Studiotown or the Spotlight Band with Tonino and Teresa.

If you remember the traditional piazza summer fest of the old Italian town, or wish you could have been there … then you don’t want to miss the Lazio Musical group or the great voice of Biagio Bucaro. On the other hand, if you prefer opera, you’ll love the Opera York performance.
And then there’s … wait a minute, why don’t you come and join us at the 21st Annual Woodbridge Italian Festival and discover, and enjoy, all the artists that will be performing; what do you want a press release or the 10 page programme of this two day musical and cultural extravaganza. After all, it won’t cost you a cent: it’s all free: no admission or parking fee.

Woodbridge Italian Festival Organizers are excited to present this year's entertainment and fun at the Ontario Soccer Centre (7601 Martin Grove Road, south of Hwy.#7) in Woodbridge on Saturday August 2 and Sunday August 3 for your enjoyment!

The Festival will feature many other talented entertainers, world-class demonstrations by Joe Cariati's Tae Kwon Do Showcase, beautiful Dancers and A KIDS AMUSEMENT AREA Presented by Vaughan Mills

With tasty food, games for the children, an indoor market place with special offers, arts and crafts, and more , outdoor booths, featuring brilliant new cars and the lovely Fiat 500, the event will please a diverse audience.

Soccer fanatics or not…come out and watch the Vaughan City Council battle it out on the soccer field alongside members of the media in the 21th annual VIP Soccer Challenge, SPONSORED BY POWER STREAM.
